Police investigate drone found in Pasvalys district forest

LRT reports that police have launched an investigation after a drone believed to have been used to transport contraband was found in a forest in Keneliai village, Pasvalys district.

The drone was discovered by forestry workers on Wednesday. Police said it was covered in grass and had apparently fallen several months ago. The Skydas plan was activated after it was found.

After determining that the drone contained no explosives and may have been used to transport contraband, authorities collected initial material for examination as part of a previously opened pre-trial investigation into contraband. The investigation is being overseen by the Panevėžys Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
