Rain expected across Estonia on Wednesday

Rain will spread across Estonia on Wednesday as a low-pressure area moves from the Norwegian Sea into Scandinavia, ERR reports. The system will extend over the Baltic Sea, bringing thicker cloud and more widespread rain from the western islands to the mainland by evening.

Overnight, scattered light rain and fog are possible. Winds will be mostly light and from the south, with temperatures of 5 to 11 degrees Celsius inland and up to 15 degrees on the coast.

Wednesday morning will bring variable cloud, with occasional showers. Southeasterly and southerly winds will reach 3 to 8 metres per second, up to 10 metres per second on the coast of western Estonia and gusting to 14 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 9 to 12 degrees, reaching up to 15 degrees on the coast.

Cloud cover will increase from the west during the afternoon. More intense rain will reach the islands towards evening and spread to western mainland Estonia. Thunderstorms are possible in some places. Southerly and southwesterly winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, with gusts up to 12 metres per second, while winds on the islands and western coast will reach 6 to 12 metres per second, gusting to 16 metres per second. Temperatures will rise to 16 to 20 degrees.

Thursday will bring variable cloud and limited cloud cover, while Friday will be partly cloudy, with showers in many places on both days. Cloud will decrease on Saturday, although widespread showers are expected in the morning before becoming less frequent in the afternoon. Sunday will be cloudy with sunny intervals and rain. Temperatures over the following days will range from 14 to 19 degrees.
