Person dies in house fire in Vilnius district

A person died after a wooden house caught fire in the village of Galgiai in Vilnius District Municipality on Tuesday, LRT reported, citing the Emergency Response Centre.

The centre received a call at 1:01 p.m. reporting that a wooden house on Centrinė Street in Galgiai, in the Mickūnai eldership, was burning with open flames. At 1:26 p.m., firefighters removed the badly burned body from the house.

Fire and rescue crews from Vilnius County were sent to the scene, and information about the incident was passed to the Vilnius County ambulance service.
