Latvian Radio questions 15th Saeima election list leaders

Latvian Radio’s Krustpunktā programme is questioning leaders of political groups standing in Latvia’s 15th Saeima elections, LSM reported.

In the first part of Tuesday’s programme, Saskaņas centrs leader Jānis Urbanovičs, the top candidate on the Riga electoral district list, is taking part. The second part features Augusts Brigmanis of the Union of Greens and Farmers, who is second on its Riga list.

The 15th Saeima elections will take place on October 3, with polling stations open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters will be able to cast their ballots at any polling station. Fourteen candidate lists have been submitted for the election.

Votes can be deposited for safekeeping at all polling stations in Latvia from September 28 until election day. The designated hours are September 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; September 29 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.; September 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; October 1 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.; and October 2 from noon to 3 p.m.

The newly elected 15th Saeima will convene for its first sitting on November 3, when the powers of the 14th Saeima will end.
