Contemporary photography fair Foto Tallinn 2026 will present works by 45 artists from 15 countries, ERR reported. The exhibition will focus on photographic practices with clear points of departure, strong narrative frameworks and distinctive visual languages.
“Photography is a complicated medium and therefore especially valuable today,” said the fair’s artistic director, Lilian Hiob-Küttis.
“It gives us the opportunity to train our critical thinking skills: what is staged, what really happened, what has been manipulated and what was created artificially. These things may not be obvious at first glance. Understanding an image often depends on whether we know something about its author, its narrative, its history and its cultural references,” she said.
Foto Tallinn director Kadi-Ell Tähiste said the international expert jury changes each year, giving the fair a different character while reflecting the current state and future directions of contemporary photography worldwide.
