Lithuania’s air alert was cancelled at 13:45 on Sunday, allowing residents to leave safe places and shelters, LRT reported.
A likely air threat was announced at about 13:08 in Vilnius, Trakai and Elektrėnai districts and in the city of Vilnius.
Residents were advised to seek shelter as soon as possible after hearing the civil protection signal “Air alert.” Shelters are intended to provide short-term protection from direct and indirect attacks, shrapnel, debris, blast waves and stray bullets.
Suitable shelters may include basements, underground car parks, garages, tunnels, and designated spaces in residential, public, leisure and sports buildings.
LRT provides a list of shelters across Lithuania. Information about emergency situations is also available on the LT72 website.
