Riga residents can deliver storm debris until September 20

Riga residents can continue delivering trees, branches and leaves broken by the storm, LSM reports. The collection point at 12 Siguldas Prospect in Mežapark will operate until Monday, September 14, while the point at 16A Uzvaras Boulevard will remain open until Sunday, September 20.

Large timber and oversized logs are accepted only at the Uzvaras Boulevard collection point.

Residents have so far delivered more than 1,000 cubic metres of wood and branches to the collection points established by the Riga municipality.

The Uzvaras Boulevard point is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The Mežapark point, located in the car park near 12 Siguldas Prospect, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.

The estimated cost of addressing the damage caused by Storm Priska and its consequences to Riga municipal property and infrastructure has reached approximately 1.3 million euros.

Intensive work to clear the storm damage and clean up public areas is continuing across the capital.
