The sixth Heavy Music Showcase will bring 12 Estonian heavy music acts to Tallinn’s Tapper club on October 3, ERR reported. The artists have released or are due to release new music in 2026.
“The idea of the showcase is to provide the broadest possible overview in one evening of what is currently happening in Estonian heavy music,” said Ott Evestus, head of the Estonian Heavy Music Association.
This year’s event will be held at Tapper for the first time. It previously took place at Tallinn’s Kinomaja but is moving to a larger concert venue because of a lack of space.
The programme brings together acts from different generations and backgrounds. The more established bands are Pantokraator, Tharaphita and Freakangel, while newer names include Kurivaim, Sunkiller and Mobisa Mobisa. Diversion Ends and Surrogoat will perform after returning from extended creative breaks.
The lineup also includes Laura Prits, Artifer, Fumantum and The Primer. The music will range from modern rock and progressive rock to pagan black metal, experimental drone and noise.
Each artist will have about 20 minutes, although the time does not have to be used for a conventional concert performance. Most acts will play live sets, while Pantokraator and Tharaphita will give public interviews about the background and creative process behind their new albums.
