LSM is providing live coverage of the second day of the Riga Conference 2026, the Nordic region’s largest foreign policy and security forum. The event is being held from September 10 to 11 at the Latvian National History Museum.
The conference brings together leaders, experts, diplomats, politicians and business representatives from around the world.
Its main focus is Europe’s economic resilience and its ability to stand united against new internal and external challenges.
Key discussions are examining diplomacy’s ability to act in a changing world, including how foreign policy tools can protect the interests of democratic countries as hybrid threats increase and international law is violated.
Experts are also assessing changes in Europe’s economic resilience and political identity. Particular attention is being paid to integrating Ukraine’s military experience and technological innovations into NATO defence planning and force development.
The Riga Conference is jointly organised by the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.
