Estonia to see rain and sunshine on Friday
Estonia will experience rain, thunderstorms and sunshine on Friday, ERR reported. A low-pressure trough will move northeast across Estonia and Finland overnight, followed by a ridge of high pressure from the sea.
Rain will gradually end from the west during the day as clouds break up and winds strengthen. Overnight, temperatures will fall to between 6 and 11 degrees Celsius, reaching up to 14 degrees on the coast. During the day, temperatures will rise to between 14 and 18 degrees.
Cloud cover will vary overnight, with a band of rain moving across the country. Rain may be heavy in places, and thunderstorms are possible. Fog may form in some inland areas.
Winds will initially blow from the west at 2 to 8 metres per second, with gusts of up to 12 metres per second. From the islands, the wind will turn northwest, reaching 5 to 12 metres per second, with coastal gusts of up to 17 metres per second.
Friday morning will be mostly clear and dry in western Estonia. In the east, the sky will remain cloudy with some clearer spells and widespread rain. Westerly and northwesterly winds will reach 3 to 9 metres per second, with gusts of up to 12 metres per second and coastal gusts of up to 15 metres per second. Temperatures will rise to between 10 and 15 degrees.
During the day, cloud cover will be limited and changeable. Rain will fall in many places in the morning, while scattered showers are expected in the afternoon. Northwesterly and westerly winds will reach 5 to 12 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second and up to 17 metres per second on the northern coast. Winds will weaken towards evening.
Clouds will thicken from the west on Saturday, and rain will spread eastwards across Estonia. Temperatures will average 15 degrees. Sunday will also be cloudy and rainy, with average temperatures rising to 17 degrees.
Clearer skies will become more common at the start of next week. Scattered showers are expected in eastern Estonia on Monday morning, while showers will spread across the country on Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will average 18 degrees on both days.
