Riga Conference 2026 examines Europe’s resilience and security

LSM reports that the Riga Conference 2026, the Nordic region’s largest foreign policy and security forum, is being held at the Latvian National History Museum from September 10 to 11.

The forum brings together leaders, experts, diplomats, politicians and businesspeople from around the world. Its main focus is Europe’s economic resilience and its ability to respond jointly to new internal and external challenges.

Discussions will address diplomacy’s ability to act in a changing world, including how foreign policy tools can protect democratic countries’ interests as hybrid threats increase and international law is violated.

Experts will also assess Europe’s economic resilience and changes in its political identity. Particular attention will be given to integrating Ukraine’s military experience and technological innovations into NATO’s defence planning and force development.

The Riga Conference is jointly organised by the Latvian Transatlantic Organisation, the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence.
