Lithuanian soldier detained after suspected drugs found in Alytus

A Lithuanian Armed Forces soldier was detained after a bag containing a substance suspected to be a plant-based narcotic was found in Alytus, LRT reported.

Police said the bag was discovered on Monday at about 7:10 p.m. near the entrance to a store on Naujoji Street.

The soldier, born in 2001, was detained and questioned. A pre-trial investigation has been opened into the unlawful possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances without intent to distribute them.
