Nausėda to attend Harald V’s funeral in Oslo

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda will attend the funeral of Norway’s King Harald V in Oslo on Wednesday, LRT reported.

Last week, Nausėda signed a book of condolences in the king’s memory and said he could well imagine what Norwegian society was feeling after the monarch’s death.

Nausėda said Harald was a very warm and down-to-earth person. He added that both he and his team had been impressed by the king’s sense of humour.

According to BNS, Norway’s King Harald V died in late August in his 90th year. He was the oldest reigning European monarch by age. Following his father’s death, Crown Prince Haakon became King Haakon VIII.
