Showers and thunderstorms forecast across Estonia on Wednesday

ERR reports that showers will fall in many parts of Estonia on Wednesday, with some heavy downpours and isolated thunderstorms in the evening.

A low-pressure system with several centres will move across Scandinavia toward the Gulf of Bothnia, while its southern edge covers the Baltic Sea. The Baltic states will remain on its southeastern edge, bringing frequent rain to the region.

Overnight, skies will be cloudy with occasional clear spells and showers in many areas. Southerly and southwesterly winds will reach 4 to 10 metres per second, with gusts of up to 14 metres per second on the coast. Temperatures will remain between 12 and 17 degrees.

Wednesday morning will bring cloudy skies with some clear spells. Cloud cover will be thinner in southern Estonia, and isolated showers are expected. Southerly and southwesterly winds will again reach 4 to 10 metres per second, with coastal gusts of up to 14 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 14 to 17 degrees.

During the day, the weather will remain cloudy with occasional clear spells. Showers will affect many areas and may become heavy at times. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in the evening. Winds will come from the south and southwest at 3 to 9 metres per second, with coastal gusts of up to 12 metres per second. Temperatures will reach 17 to 21 degrees, and up to 24 degrees in southeastern Estonia.

Cloudy and rainy conditions are expected to continue through the end of the working week. Rain may be heavy in places on Thursday, while skies will begin to clear and showers become less frequent by Friday evening.

Average temperatures are expected to be around 15 degrees at the end of the working week and rise to about 18 degrees over the weekend. Saturday will bring mostly clear and variable cloud cover, while Sunday will be changeable. Showers will occur at times on both days.
