Robber attacks woman at Vilnius bus stop before dawn

LRT reports that a woman was attacked at a bus stop in Vilnius’s Antakalnis district early Tuesday morning, with the robber pushing her from behind and stealing her handbag.

Police received a report of the incident before 6 a.m. An unidentified man approached the woman from behind, knocked her to the ground, possibly struck her once or several times, and took her handbag containing personal belongings and money, the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat told LRT.

Officers searched Sapiegos Park, where they found items scattered around. The attacker has not been identified.

A pre-trial investigation into robbery has been opened.
