Man dies, three women injured in Šiauliai house fire

A man died and three women were injured in a fire at a multi-apartment building in Šiauliai overnight from Saturday to Sunday, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.

Police received a report of the fire on M. Valančiaus Street at about 12:50 a.m. The fire destroyed the building’s interior and damaged its exterior.

Firefighters found the burned body of a man born in 1983 at the scene.

Two injured women, born in 1974 and 1983, were taken to hospital. A third woman, born in 1975, was treated as an outpatient.

The cause of the fire is being established. Officials have opened a pretrial investigation into the cause of the man’s death.
