Sunday forecast brings showers and clearing skies

Rain showers are possible across Estonia on Sunday, with skies expected to clear and precipitation to end towards evening, ERR reported. Temperatures will reach 13 to 17 C.

A low-pressure system will move north along the western edge of Russia overnight and remain near the White Sea during the day. Its southwestern edge will extend over the Baltic states.

Clouds will build and bring occasional showers in some areas. During the day, a ridge of high pressure will move from the North Sea across southern Scandinavia to the Baltic Sea. Air pressure will rise towards evening, clouds will thin and the showers will stop.

The coming night will bring limited and variable cloud cover. Occasional showers are possible, particularly along the coast and on the islands, and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Fog may form in places inland.

Westerly winds will blow at 2 to 8 metres per second. On the coast, northwesterly and northerly winds will reach 5 to 11 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second. Temperatures will remain between 6 and 11 C, reaching up to 15 C on the coast.

Sunday morning will bring limited and variable cloud cover, with isolated showers. Fog may persist in places in southern Estonia. Winds will be from the northwest and west at 2 to 8 metres per second, while coastal northwesterly and northerly winds will reach 5 to 11 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 9 to 13 C, reaching 15 C on the islands.

Cloud cover will remain variable during the day, with occasional showers. The sky will clear and the showers will end towards evening. Northwesterly and westerly winds will reach 5 to 11 metres per second, with gusts of up to 14 metres per second inland and 16 metres per second on the coast. Winds will ease inland in the evening.

Monday will bring limited and variable cloud cover, with some fog overnight and occasional showers during the day. The average temperature will be 18 C.

There will be slightly more cloud on Tuesday, but showers will mainly affect western Estonia. Temperatures will average 19 C on Tuesday and 18 C on Wednesday.

Wednesday and Thursday will bring cloudy spells with brighter intervals and occasional showers. Showers may be heavy in places on Wednesday, with thunderstorms also possible. The average temperature will fall to 16 C on Thursday.
