Roger Andre lets bacon burn while poaching an egg

Comedian Roger Andre struggled to poach an egg during an appearance on ERR’s Terevisioon television programme, leaving it spinning in the pot for too long while bacon burned in the pan.

“I thought that if you are a student and perhaps already living alone, you want something simple to eat,” Andre said. He used eggs from Muhu, bacon, Muhu blueberries, coconut flakes and crushed cacao beans to prepare the dish.

Andre said the pan should be heated before adding the bacon, and that no oil was needed. “You can turn bacon in the pan only once,” he said, based on his own experience.

He said he had watched a TikTok video explaining how to poach an egg, but did not manage to watch it to the end. As a result, he was unsure when to remove the egg from the boiling water.

“The bacon is burning and the egg is spinning,” Andre said, summing up his experience in the Terevisioon kitchen segment.

Andre also said he was preparing to become the first stand-up comedian to perform his own show on the stage of the Draamateater. He said he could not act and was generally not very political in his style.

“I’m like a firework, I’m simply nice to watch,” Andre said. “I’m a storyteller comedian. I tell stories.”
