Fire burns equipment and fiberglass at Šiauliai district facility

A fire broke out in production premises in Varputėnai village, Šiauliai district, on Friday, with equipment and fiberglass burning in open flames, LRT reported, citing the Fire and Rescue Department.

Firefighters received the report at 1:05 p.m. The premises are in the Kuršėnai rural eldership administrative area.

Seven fire tanker trucks, a water transport vehicle and a command vehicle were sent to fight the blaze. Water is being transported from an artificial reservoir about one kilometre from the fire.

The fire is still being extinguished. Preliminary information indicates that workers left the production premises and that no one was injured.
