Experts and students are discussing how to resolve disagreements over values at a pre-election event held Thursday at the University of Latvia, LSM reported.
The discussion is organised by Krustpunktā, a programme of Latvian Radio. It focuses on how decisions should be made on the Istanbul Convention and whether Latvia will uphold European standards of freedom in the areas of human rights and the media.
Krustpunktā is holding a series of discussions at Latvian higher education institutions to find out how students view Latvia’s development after the parliamentary election.
The 15th Saeima election will take place on Saturday, October 3. Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters will be able to cast their ballots at any polling station.
Voters will also be able to deposit their ballots for safekeeping at all polling stations from September 28 until election day during designated hours. The newly elected 15th Saeima will convene for its first sitting on November 3, when the mandate of the 14th Saeima will end.
