Machinery crushes worker to death in Šiauliai

A worker was crushed and killed by machinery during work in Šiauliai on Wednesday, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.

The accident occurred at 2:05 p.m. on Danės Street. Preliminary information indicates that the worker, born in 1990, was climbing out of a stuck excavator when the machinery unexpectedly moved and crushed him.

Police have opened a pretrial investigation into a possible violation of occupational safety and health requirements.
