Regional forum to focus on investment and jobs in Šeduva

The eighth Regional Policy Forum will be held in Šeduva on Thursday, with discussions focused on Lithuania’s regional policy priorities as the country approaches a new strategic planning and investment period, LRT reported.

The event, organised by the Ministry of the Interior and the Central Project Management Agency, will examine which investments should be prioritised, how to ensure essential services in remote areas and what is needed to create a balanced and vibrant regional labour market.

Organisers say Lithuania is at an important stage for regional policy. The new National Progress Plan is being prepared, Lithuania and the European Union are discussing the next financial period, and the Government is expected to approve its programme implementation plan soon.

Participants will include representatives of the Seimas, the Presidential Office, the Government and ministries, regional development councils, municipalities, businesses, communities, non-governmental organisations and trade unions. Lithuanian and foreign experts will also attend.
