Police remand man over alleged sexual exploitation of five minors

Police have remanded a man born in 1967 over the alleged sexual exploitation of five minors in Jelgava, LSM reported, citing the State Police. Investigators have identified at least 18 alleged criminal episodes.

The alleged offences took place between March 1994 and January 2015. The State Police received information about sexual acts involving several minors in January 2026 and detained the suspected offender.

The investigation also identified violations involving the circulation of pornographic materials. Several data carriers were seized containing images and videos depicting child pornography, as well as images of sexual acts between a person and animals.

The criminal case was classified under several provisions of the Criminal Law, including Sections 162 and 166, as well as Section 123 of the Criminal Code.

On August 18, the case was sent to the prosecutor’s office to begin criminal prosecution.
