Riga to remove railings along embankments during restoration

Railings will be temporarily dismantled in several sections of Riga’s 11 November Embankment and Radziņš Embankment during infrastructure restoration, the Riga municipality told LSM.

The municipality urged residents to take particular care near the work sites, follow barriers and stay away from the embankment edge where railings have been removed.

Other repair work is also planned along 11 November Embankment. Between Vanšu Bridge and Big Kristaps, sections of the surface will be removed, rainwater inlets restored and stairs repaired.

Stair repairs have also begun on the section of 11 November Embankment between Stone Bridge and Railway Bridge.

The municipality asked residents to respect the restrictions in place during the work, follow the installed barriers and not enter the work zones.
