Summer’s final weekend to bring rain and strong winds

LRT reports that the final weekend of summer will be rainy and windy, although Sunday is expected to be somewhat warmer.

Forecaster Tadas Kantautas said Saturday will bring changeable weather and rain, with rain clouds moving in from western Lithuania. Southeasterly and southerly winds will reach 8 to 13 metres per second, with gusts of up to 15 m/s in some areas. Temperatures will range from 19 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Sunday will bring more sunny spells. Brief showers are expected in places, mainly in northern and western districts, and thunderstorms are possible. Southerly and southwesterly winds will reach 4 to 9 m/s at night and 7 to 12 m/s during the day. Temperatures will fall to 10 to 15 degrees overnight, or 16 to 18 degrees on the coast, and rise to 20 to 25 degrees during the day.

On Monday, brief rain is expected in some areas, mainly in western and northern districts, with thunderstorms possible. Southerly and southwesterly winds will reach 6 to 11 m/s. Temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees at night and from 21 to 26 degrees during the day.
