Teinfeldt-Grins exhibition explores landscapes shaped by memory and power

Artist and researcher Maryliis Teinfeldt-Grins has opened an exhibition exploring landscape as a layered carrier of memory shaped by power and human activity, ERR reported.

It Is the Wind That Swells the Sails opened on Thursday at Draakon Gallery, an art gallery in Tallinn.

Teinfeldt-Grins’s creative and doctoral work focuses on the links between memory, landscape and language, with particular attention to Kadrina and Ambla parishes.

She studied textile art at Pallas University of Applied Sciences and the Latvian Academy of Art, and holds a master’s degree in contemporary art from the Estonian Academy of Arts.

Teinfeldt-Grins has received the Eduard Wiiralt and Adamson-Eric scholarships. Her works are held in the collections of the Estonian Art Museum and the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design.

The exhibition is open until September 27.
