Comedian, musician and singer Sten Erik Allikas has died at the age of 44, ERR reported, citing an announcement by Huumoriklubi on social media.
“Today is an incredibly painful day, as our beloved friend and colleague Sten Erik Allikas has left us,” Huumoriklubi said. The club described him as a warm and helpful person who was willing to put aside his own wellbeing to make life easier for those around him.
Huumoriklubi urged people to tell their friends how important they are and asked the public to respect Allikas’s family’s grief and privacy.
Allikas joined Comedy Estonia in 2020. A year ago, he became one of the hosts of Sky Plus’s afternoon programme “Õhtune äratus”, alongside Andi Raig. His last broadcast on the station was on August 19.
Sky Media representative Birgit Veer told Kroonika that the company had ended its employment relationship with Allikas in July. His final broadcast was scheduled for August 21, but the radio team was unable to meet with him.
In addition to comedy and radio, Allikas worked as a musician and singer.
