Rain will ease across Lithuania from Wednesday

Cool and wet weather will start the week in Lithuania, with brief rain in many areas before conditions improve on Wednesday, Paulius Starkus, a forecaster with the Hydrometeorological Service, told LRT Radio, according to LRT.

Monday will be cloudy with sunny spells. Brief rain is expected in many places, with heavier showers and possible thunderstorms in some areas. Winds will be fairly strong, with gusts of up to 15 metres per second. Temperatures will reach 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday night, brief rain is expected only in places. Winds will ease, and fog will form in many areas. Temperatures will fall to 8 to 13 degrees, although it will be slightly warmer on the coast.

Brief rain is also forecast during the day, mainly in the northeastern part of the country. Winds will be moderate, and temperatures will range from 17 to 22 degrees.

Wednesday will bring calmer and drier weather. Winds will be light, clouds will become less frequent and no rain is expected. Temperatures will fall to 6 to 11 degrees overnight and rise to 18 to 23 degrees during the day.

Thursday and Friday are expected to be mostly calm and dry. Winds will gradually strengthen on Friday. Daytime temperatures will reach 18 to 23 degrees on Thursday and locally 25 degrees on Friday.
