CSDD elects temporary board after cyberattack

The Road Traffic Safety Directorate, known as CSDD, has elected a temporary board led by Qualification Department head Juris Teteris, LSM reported. The appointments are intended to ensure the company’s uninterrupted operation and governance until a permanent board is elected.
The CSDD temporary council elected Teteris as board chair and Aivis Ozoliņš as a board member at its first meeting.
The temporary board was appointed after the previous board members resigned in connection with a cyberattack on CSDD.
Teteris has been a longtime member of CSDD’s management team, with experience in road safety, driver qualification and examination processes. Before his appointment, he headed the CSDD Qualification Department, overseeing the development of driver training, examination and qualification systems and working on road safety improvements. He holds a master’s degree in engineering from Riga Technical University.
Ozoliņš heads CSDD’s Vehicle Registration Department and has more than 30 years of experience in vehicle registration and industry development. He holds a bachelor’s qualification in technical sciences from Riga Technical University. His professional work has focused on improving and developing vehicle registration processes.
The temporary board’s main task will be to ensure the uninterrupted performance of CSDD’s daily functions, the company’s stability and the implementation of measures required after the recent cyberattack, while maintaining high governance and information security standards.
The Ministry of Transport is continuing preparations for open competitions for permanent members of CSDD’s council and board, with the aim of ensuring sustainable governance in line with good corporate governance principles.
