Singers praise Estonia and freedom at presidential reception

Estonian singers An-Marlen, Jüri Pootsman and Eleryn Tiit spoke about their appreciation for Estonia and freedom at the concert held during the president’s Rose Garden reception, ERR reported.

“I recently realised that I am at a point in my life where I truly feel that I do not want to go anywhere. I do not want to move away from Estonia,” Pootsman said. “I simply like being at home because it is good here.”

An-Marlen said she had always loved Estonia from the heart. “We have a beautiful country and beautiful people, and it is nice to celebrate that,” she said.

Tiit said that, particularly at the present time, people no longer take freedom for granted. “That is why such celebratory days touch the heart even more,” she said.

She described the concert programme as diverse, saying it offered opportunities to dance, cry and laugh. Tiit singled out “Nagu merelaine” as her favourite song from the programme.

An-Marlen said she was especially looking forward to performing “Absoluutselt” and “Rapuntsel”. Pootsman named Ruja’s “Tango” as his favourite song.
