Short but intense rain and strong wind gusts caused flooding and felled trees in several parts of Vilnius on Thursday afternoon, LRT reports, citing the company Grinda.
Grinda said it had received eight reports of flooded streets and fallen trees. The damage has been cleared on Geologų, Šeškinės and Ukmergės streets, as well as on Savanorių and Laisvės avenues.
After storm drains were cleared, water levels fell on some sections of the affected streets. A fallen tree was also removed from Žaliųjų Ežerų Street.
Three tasks remained under way: flooding on Gervėčių Street and fallen trees on Prašiškių and Svajonių streets. Grinda said crews were already on their way to those locations.
Residents are asked to report infrastructure damage or dangerous situations by calling 1355.
