Estonia’s parliament to mark independence anniversary with joint session

Estonia’s parliament and the 20 August Club will hold a ceremonial joint session to mark the 35th anniversary of the restoration of the country’s independence, ERR reported.
The session will take place in the Riigikogu’s chamber, with speeches by Riigikogu Speaker Lauri Hussar, President Alar Karis and 20 August Club President Ants Veetõusme.
Greetings will also be delivered by Icelandic President Halla Tómasdóttir, Latvian Saeima Speaker Daiga Mieriņa, Andris Teikmanis of Latvia’s May 4 Declaration Club, Lithuanian Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas and Birutė Valionytė, president of Lithuania’s Signatories’ Club.
The Huik mixed choir will perform during the session. ERR’s live broadcast will begin at noon.
