Candidate lists draw order for free 15th Saeima campaign airtime

Candidate lists for Latvia’s 15th Saeima election will draw the order in which they can use free campaign airtime on Latvia’s public media, LSM reported. The draw begins on August 19 at 4:30 p.m.

From September 8 to October 1, each candidate list will be entitled to four five-minute slots on LSM’s first television programme and four five-minute slots on LSM’s first radio programme.

The 15th Saeima election will take place on Saturday, October 3. Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and voters will be able to cast their ballots at any polling station.

Fourteen candidate lists have been submitted for the election. The pre-election campaign period began on June 5.

The newly elected 15th Saeima will hold its first sitting on November 3, when the mandate of the 14th Saeima will also end.
