Short-lived rain and thunderstorms are expected in many parts of Lithuania over the coming days, with temperatures reaching up to 27 degrees on Friday, LRT Radio reports, citing Hydrometeorological Service forecaster Paulius Starkus.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy, with the clearest conditions in the southern part of the country. Brief showers are expected in many areas, mainly in the north during the first half of the day. New rain clouds will reach southwestern districts towards the evening. Some areas will see thunderstorms, and rain may be heavy in the west. Winds from the south and southwest will be moderate, while temperatures will range from 18 to 23 degrees.

Brief rain is expected almost everywhere on Thursday night, with heavy rain and thunderstorms possible in some areas. Temperatures will fall to 11 to 16 degrees. During the day, showers will affect many areas, particularly northern and northeastern districts. Southerly and southwesterly winds will strengthen to moderate or fresh, and temperatures will reach 19 to 24 degrees.

Brief rain, locally accompanied by thunderstorms, is forecast for both Friday night and day. Night-time temperatures will range from 4 to 9 degrees, with warmer conditions on the coast. Daytime temperatures will reach 19 to 21 degrees in most areas, 23 to 25 degrees in southern Lithuania and locally 27 degrees.

The weekend is also likely to bring brief showers, but daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 19 and 24 degrees.
