Sejavičienė joins Sinkevičius’s team as parliament adviser

Sandra Sejavičienė has joined Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius’s team as an adviser on relations with the Seimas, Lithuania’s parliament, LRT reported.

She began work on Monday, government spokesperson Gedas Salyga confirmed to ELTA.

“The prime minister values S. Sejavičienė’s experience in the legislative process and has no doubt that her expertise will help implement the government’s goals and ensure smooth communication between the government and the Seimas,” Salyga said.

Sejavičienė previously served as an adviser on parliamentary relations to Jūratė Zailskienė, who was then minister of social security and labour.

She has experience in the public sector and civic activities. She has worked as an adviser to a member of the Seimas and as a senior librarian at the public library of Alytus District Municipality.

Sinkevičius’s team also includes family policy adviser Giedrė Purvaneckienė, spokesperson Salyga, cultural affairs adviser Darius Kuolys, former health minister Marija Jakubauskienė, who is responsible for health issues, and IT and digitalisation adviser Dalia Markinienė.

Brigita Šlepetienė, who previously worked with Sinkevičius at Jonava District Municipality, was appointed to head the prime minister’s office. Tomas Daukantas was delegated to serve as government chancellor.

In mid-July, after the 21st Government’s programme was approved, Sinkevičius and the other members of the new Cabinet took their oaths in the Seimas. The government was formed by parliamentary groups from the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, the Democrats Union “For Lithuania”, and the Union of Lithuanian Farmers, Greens and Christian Families.
