Illustrator and artist Eiko Ojala’s first solo exhibition opened at Rüki gallery in Viljandi on August 15, ERR reported. “Notes of the Mind” is curated by Lilian Hiob-Küttis.

The exhibition highlights a less frequently presented part of Ojala’s work. His recognisable visual language moves beyond its illustrative function to examine the connections between space, form and psychological states.

The series centres on figures surrounded by geometric surfaces and forms that refer to institutional or strictly defined interiors. Bodies bend, sink or press against surfaces that both support and restrict their movement.

The exhibition shifts the focus from narrative depiction to observing how built environments and surrounding spaces organise bodies, direct movement and shape people’s inner worlds. “Notes of the Mind” will remain open at Rüki gallery until September 26.
