Changeable weather is expected in Lithuania on Sunday as a cold atmospheric front moves across the country, LRT reported, citing Tadas Kantautas, a forecaster with the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

Cloud cover will increase, with brief rain forecast in most parts of the country and thunderstorms possible. Winds will initially come from the south and southwest before turning west and northwest in the afternoon and strengthening. Gusts could reach 15–17 metres per second in some areas.

Temperatures will rise to 25–27°C, while western districts will be cooler, with highs of 19–21°C. Temperatures will fall across the country in the late afternoon and evening.

Cooler weather and brief rain are expected next week. On Monday night, clouds will clear and isolated rain is possible, along with thunderstorms. Temperatures will fall to 9–14°C, or 15–18°C on the coast.

Monday will bring moderate westerly and southwesterly winds, with temperatures reaching 18–23°C. Cloud cover will increase during the day and thunderstorms will be possible in some areas.

Tuesday is expected to be similar, with isolated rain at night and brief rain in many places during the day. Longer and more persistent rain may occur in eastern Lithuania. Temperatures will range from 9–14°C overnight, or 15–17°C on the coast, to 17–23°C during the day.

Similar weather is forecast for Wednesday, while temperatures should rise in the second half of the week.
