Warmer air will push temperatures to 30C in Lithuania
Lithuania will see a warmer air mass on Saturday, with temperatures rising to 25-30C, LRT Radio and LRT.lt report, citing Paulius Starkus, a forecaster at the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.
An anticyclone will influence the weather, although air pressure will gradually fall. Morning clouds will clear, leaving a bright day with little cloud and no rain. Winds will blow from the southwest and south.
Weather conditions will change on Sunday. Cloud cover will increase overnight from the west, while the eastern part of the country will remain clear for longer. By morning, short-lived rain is expected across many western districts.
During the day, a cold atmospheric front will cross Lithuania. The weather will be cloudy but with some sunshine, and most areas will receive short-lived rain. Rain will be heavier in eastern Lithuania during the second half of the day, where thunderstorms are also possible.
Southwesterly and westerly winds will strengthen, with coastal gusts reaching 16 metres per second in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 19-24C in western Lithuania and 25-30C in the east.
Monday will bring more short-lived rain and possible thunderstorms. Southwesterly and westerly winds will continue, with coastal gusts reaching 15 metres per second overnight. Night-time temperatures will range from 10-15C, or 16-18C on the coast, while daytime temperatures will reach 18-23C.
Similar weather is expected on Tuesday, with short-lived rain and summer-like temperatures.
