Levadia expects Lasnamäe football hall by end of 2027

FCI Levadia expects to complete a new football hall on Punane Street in Tallinn’s Lasnamäe district by the end of 2027, ERR reported.

The club has been trying to build its own sports hall since 2021. The facility was initially planned for Maarjamäe, near the memorial to victims of communism and the club’s existing training base, but the plan was later moved after the state approved compensation of 800,000 euros.

Jevgeni Guršioglujants, the club’s chief executive, said the design deadline is August 15. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027, with completion planned by the end of that year.

The project was estimated to cost about four million euros in 2025, and that figure has remained unchanged despite rising construction prices. Most of the funding is expected to come from the City of Tallinn.

The Estonian Football Association, led by Aivar Pohlak, will repay 750,000 euros of a debt it incurred with the city in connection with the project. In 2020, the association assumed FC Flora’s earlier obligations to the city, which totalled nearly 1.6 million euros. Of that amount, 650,000 euros was invested in developing Hiiu Stadium, while at least 750,000 euros will be directed to the football hall at Punane 69b. The remaining obligation, totalling 196,765 euros, will be settled separately by the end of this year.

The hall’s design has not been changed in the meantime, and its exact address will be Punane 69b.
