Search finds missing 74-year-old woman alive in forest

LRT reports that a 74-year-old woman who went missing in a forest near Kazlų Rūda on Sunday has been found alive and is being examined by medics.

The woman disappeared after leaving to pick berries near Papilvys village in the Kazlų Rūda area. She did not return home.

Relatives, large numbers of police officers, Red Cross volunteers and other members of the public searched the forests for several days. Several hundred soldiers joined the search on Wednesday.

Marijampolė police confirmed to LRT.lt on Thursday afternoon that the woman had been found alive.
