Musician Ruslan Trochynskyi joins Estonia’s Reform Party

Ukrainian-born musician and advocate for support of Ukraine Ruslan Trochynskyi has joined Estonia’s Reform Party and will run in the parliamentary elections in March, ERR reported.

“Estonia is my home. For 22 years, I have introduced Estonian and Ukrainian culture here, in Ukraine and in 23 foreign countries, and tried through my performances to bring local Estonian and Ukrainian communities together,” Trochynskyi said.

“A free and open society is important to me. I want to contribute to ensuring that Estonia remains protected and strong in the future and continues supporting Ukraine until Ukraine achieves a definite victory,” he added.

Reform Party Secretary General Kristo Enn Vaga welcomed Trochynskyi’s decision to join the party.

“Ruslan has united Estonian and Ukrainian culture for years and stood up for a free and open Estonia. Everyone who knows Ruslan knows that he is a Ukrainian man in Estonia’s heart. I am pleased that he will now contribute to Estonia’s future together with the Reform Party,” Vaga said.

Trochynskyi is a Ukrainian-born musician, singer and trombonist who has lived in Estonia for 22 years. He is best known to the wider public as the leader of the band Svjata Vatra.

Through his work, he has also cooperated with Estonian embassies and foreign representations to bring Estonian and Ukrainian communities together abroad.
