Rain Saariku opens solo exhibition in Tallinn gallery

ERR reports that artist Rain Saarik opened his solo exhibition “This Noise Must Stop” at the Artrovert gallery in Tallinn on August 11.

The exhibition’s series of paintings is inspired by Romanticism, an art movement that viewed nature as a source of timeless power and a reflection of the human inner world. Like the Romantics, Saarik looks to nature for answers to the changes of his time, seeking silence amid the constant noise of the contemporary world 200 years later.

“Rain’s phenomenally meticulous paintings are the opposite of quickly produced art. Some works take him a year to complete. Their subject matter, however, is entirely contemporary: escaping noise into a fantasy world and places that exist only on canvas. Completely realistic unreality,” gallery owner Siim Raie said.

The exhibition’s graphic designer is Aleksandra Sofia Helena Nyyssönen. It will remain open at the Artrovert gallery until September 19.
