Estonian public broadcaster ERR reported that investigative television program Pealtnägija will begin its new season with journalists Reimo Sildvee and Heliis Raudsik joining its team, alongside a visual refresh.

Former Pealtnägija journalist Taavi Eilat will lead the ETV television program Impulss. Sildvee and Raudsik will join Pealtnägija’s investigative editorial team.

“A small change in personnel is a normal part of a life cycle and, figuratively speaking, the secret of television programs staying young,” editor-in-chief Mihkel Kärmas said. He added that the new team members would bring fresh energy while the program’s established quality would remain.

Kärmas described Sildvee, who for years hosted Terevisioon and also served as its editor-in-chief, as a journalist with encyclopedic knowledge, a broad network of contacts and extensive on-screen experience.

For Raudsik, the coming season will be her debut on the main television screen, although she is familiar with Pealtnägija after previously working on the program’s production team. She has also worked as an investigative and data journalist at Eesti Ekspress and Delfi.

Award-winning director Märten Vaher will also join Pealtnägija this season. His arrival will coincide with an update to the program’s on-screen graphics, Kärmas said.

Pealtnägija will return to ETV on Wednesday, September 2. Kärmas, Kristjan Pihl and Margit Kilumets will continue working on the program. The Russian-language program Ochevidets, hosted by Uljana Kuzmina, will also continue on ETV+ in the autumn.
