Friday will be calmer after Thursday’s storm, and the weekend is also expected to remain mostly settled, LRT reports, citing Ineta Daunoravičiūtė, a forecaster with the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

Friday will be partly cloudy, with occasional sunshine. Rain will remain more likely in western Lithuania, but it will no longer be heavy. Wind gusts will reach 8 to 13 metres per second, while temperatures will range from 21 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Rain is not expected on Saturday night as a high pressure system strengthens over Lithuania. Temperatures will fall to 9 to 14 degrees, or 15 to 17 degrees on the coast. During the day, cloud cover will increase, with brief rain possible from isolated denser clouds, particularly in northern districts. Temperatures will reach 19 to 24 degrees.

There will be little chance of rain on Sunday, both during the night and during the day. Temperatures will drop to 8 to 13 degrees overnight and rise to 21 to 26 degrees during the day.

A hotter air mass will briefly move into Lithuania at the start of next week, bringing short-lived rain and thunderstorms in some areas. Temperatures will reach 24 to 29 degrees on Monday, before cooler weather takes hold from Tuesday.
