Man detained after shooting stork in Kretinga district

A man was detained after shooting a stork in Nasrėnai village in Kretinga district on Wednesday, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.

Police received a report at 9:30 p.m. The man, born in 1965, was found at home about 30 minutes later.

During a search, officers found and seized an unregistered small calibre firearm of an undetermined make and model, fitted with an optical sight and a suppressor. They also found a magazine containing three rounds.

The suspect had a blood alcohol level of 1.53 per mille and was taken into custody. A pre-trial investigation has been opened into the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
