Rain to sweep Lithuania, with southern regions facing storms

Rain will move across Lithuania on Thursday, with the heaviest showers and thunderstorms expected mainly in the south, LRT Radio reports, citing Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecaster Tadas Kantautas.
Rain is expected in some parts of the country until midday, while new clouds bringing rain and thunderstorms should arrive towards evening. Short showers are forecast in many areas, with some potentially heavy. Thunderstorms are expected across much of the country, particularly in Marijampolė, Alytus and Vilnius counties. Some areas may also experience wind gusts of 15 to 20 metres per second and hail.
Temperatures will reach 27 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Friday will bring variable cloud cover. There may be brief showers in some places overnight, while daytime rain is expected only in isolated areas. Temperatures will range from 13 to 18 degrees overnight and from 20 to 25 degrees during the day.
Brief showers are possible in some areas on Saturday, while the chance of rain will be low on Sunday. Saturday night temperatures will fall to 9 to 14 degrees, rising to 19 to 24 degrees during the day. Sunday night will be cooler, at 7 to 12 degrees, with daytime temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees.
