Wednesday to bring Lithuania’s hottest day of the week

Lithuania will see its hottest day of the week on Wednesday, with temperatures rising to 28 to 33 degrees Celsius, LRT reports, citing forecaster Ineta Daunoravičiūtė of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

The weather will be changeably cloudy, with plenty of sunshine and clear spells, especially during the first half of the day. Short rain showers and thunderstorms are possible later in the day and in the evening. Winds will be moderate and from southerly directions.

The highest temperatures, of up to 33 degrees, are expected in southern parts of the country.

Rain will be more likely on Thursday, with short showers and thunderstorms possible in some areas. The risk will be higher in southern districts, where thunderstorms may bring dangerous gusts of wind. Temperatures will range from 16 to 21 degrees overnight and reach 26 to 31 degrees during the day. The western edge of the country will be cooler, with temperatures of 22 to 25 degrees.

Short rain showers will remain possible on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees.
