Estonian rock and blues band South of Savoy has released “Son of a Cowboy,” featuring guitarist Laur Joamets, ERR reported. Vocalist Krista Tiitinen said the song is about believing that everything happens at the right time.

Joamets offered to play on the track after hearing its demo during a dinner with the band in April, when he was travelling from the United States to Estonia. He recorded his pedal steel guitar part in Nashville and sent it to the band.

“Son of a Cowboy” tells the story of two people who feel they belong together but still have to wait. Tiitinen described it as a love story about hope and faith that everything will happen as it should at the right time.

South of Savoy was formed in Tallinn after Finnish drummer Jeremia Kangas moved to the city in 2018 and began looking for musicians to form a new band. He met guitarist August Skjoldby during his first week in Estonia, and they soon started making music together. Tiitinen, who is also from Finland, moved to Tallinn in 2020.

“Life is very nice here in Tallinn. I do not miss Finland,” Tiitinen said.

Tiitinen called filming the song’s video the best moment and memory of the summer. The band spent a week together, cooking and filming. Kangas said his favourite moment was pushing Tiitinen out onto Lake Võrtsjärv in a small boat.
