Polish black metal band Batushka will perform at the Paavli cultural factory in Tallinn on October 3, ERR reports.
Created by Krzysztof Drabikowski, Batushka gained international recognition with its 2015 debut album, “Litourgiya”. The album combines extreme metal, liturgical chants performed in an ancient Slavic language and an aesthetic inspired by Orthodox traditions.
The band’s anonymity, stage visuals influenced by monks’ robes and ecclesiastical aesthetics, and provocative use of religious symbols quickly attracted strong interest and debate in the black metal community.
After years of confusion surrounding the band’s lineup and name, Batushka continues under the leadership of its original creator, Krzysztof Drabikowski.
Batushka last performed in Estonia in 2022, giving a sold-out concert at Tapper club.
