ERR reports that the Estonian Radio Singing Studio Girls’ Choir won first place in its competition category at the Florence International Choir Festival in Italy, receiving a gold diploma and a jury’s special prize for best choreography.

The Florence International Choir and Orchestra Festival took place from July 28 to 31. Organised by Ensemble San Felice, it is described as one of Italy’s best-known choral events.

This year’s festival featured 11 choirs, orchestras and ensembles from seven countries. The jury assessed vocal excellence, repertoire selection and artistic coherence.

The festival aims to promote international cultural exchange, introduce audiences to choral music from different countries and give ensembles the opportunity to perform at Florence’s historic concert venues. Its programme also includes masterclasses, friendship concerts and joint musical evenings.
